Raewyn Beth, you've arrived . . .

. . . and you are adorable! We first met at 6:45 am just a few hours following your birth at Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills, CA on August 9, 2011. Mommy and Daddy were asleep since they were pretty tired after a day of labor and then your delivery. They were unaware I sneaked in the room where all 3 of you were sleeping. One look at you told me you look so much like your Daddy did when he was born (I'm his mom - I should know). I only stayed a few minutes staring at your little round face and falling madly in love with you!

You are a miracle my dear. Your parents went through several lost pregnancies before you were brought to term, and so a celebration was certainly welcome! I believe everyone they know is celebrating your birth, Rae -- family, friends, neighbors, Blog followers, and Facebook folk who have prayed for you many months.

Later on the day of your birth, Grandpa, Willow, and I came to the hospital to visit you. Grandpa and I live in Indiana, and we were so grateful to be with your family at this happy time. During the 5 days after your parents brought you home from the hospital, I stayed to help with your sister. I was so blessed to get to spend time with you as well, holding you and listening to you breathe, watching your little eyes flutter as you slept, hearing you cry -- you have amazing lungs girl -- and seeing the love Mommy feels for you. Such an amazing bond - Mother and child.

From now until our next visit I will be looking at you via Skype -- an amazing tool on the internet that allows families to stay connected while living far apart. I look forward to our visits over the net, and I dream of the next time I get to see you face to face. I love you Rae!
